PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic sheet moving method capable of perfectly excluding the step of changing the operation sequence of a robot whenever its own learning step and the type of a metallic sheet to handle change. ;SOLUTION: a) Fixed input data for identifying the space geometry of components 100, 101, 110 and 106 in an operating area 10 is obtained. b) Variable input data consisting of the size and the shape of a metallic sheet 104 to handle and the working sequence of a metallic sheet is obtained from a machine tool 100. c) Fixed input data and variable input data are processed by a processing unit in order to automatically generate output data for identifying the previously selected locus of the metallic sheet 104. d) Output data is transferred to the control unit of a robot 101 for driving the robot 101 to move the sheet 104 along the locus previously selected for handling the metallic sheet by selecting by the type.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
