PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To invalidate a return of an article sold at another store and to prevent shoplifting. ;SOLUTION: Each article 1 is provided with a communication tag 2. A POS terminal 4 when inputting the data of the radio tag 2 of a registered article through a radio tag reader writer 5 checks store code data and status data in the data. When a sale registration mode is selected, a sale registering process for sale data on the registered article is performed and the status data of the radio tag 2 of the registered article are rewritten into a registered state on condition that the store code is of this sore and the status data is unregistered. When an article return registration mode is selected, an article return registering process for the sale data of the registered article is performed on condition that the store code is of this store and the status data is already registered.
