PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture vessel assembly equipped with a means for changing the diffusion rate of a gas going in or out the culture vessel assembly and further with means for substantially minimizing the passage of biological contaminants and used for the growth of cells or the culture of a tissue in vitro. ;SOLUTION: This tissue culture assembly 10 comprises a plate 20 equipped with a plurality of wells 26 having opened ends 32 and standing sidewalls 28 forming the outer edges of the wells and further with a handle, and a lid 60 comprising a cover 62 having an orifice 100 connected to a gas-permeable membrane 102 and further detachably having a lever 90 capable of engaging with the handle 50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
