KNITTED FABRIC PATTERNING, PLEAT FABRIC MADE THEREBY, AND KNITWEAR MADE OF THE PLEAT FABRIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patterning method designed to manifest a continuous pattern based on vortex form along the flow of weave striations by making use of stretchability as a characteristic of knitted fabrics, to obtain a pleat fabric made by this method, and to obtain a knitwear made of the pleat fabric. ;SOLUTION: First, a stretch frame 3 is inserted via the opening of a bag 2 made by sewing a knitted fabric prepared by allocatedly knitting nonstretched tightened texture parts in the original knitted fabric in advance to set the knitted fabric tensioned, and the resultant fabric is put on a dry heating stand 4 and dry-heated as a whole by hot jet blow-up. Subsequently, the stretch frame 3 is detached and the bag 2 is disassembled, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is applied along one edge in the direction of weave striations of the resultant dry-heated knitted fabric with somewhat decreased longitudinal and lateral dimensions so as to uniformize and fix stitch pitches, and the knitted fabric is subjected to a pleating machine to manifest a continuous pattern 8 based on vortex form along the flow of the weave striations.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
