SPECIAL STRUCTURE PACKING ELEMENT HAVING BIDIRECTIONAL SURFACE TEXTURE, AND MASS AND HEAT TRANSFER METHOD USING THIS PACKING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a special structure packing element which exhibits high- performance characteristics in utilization of this packing at a low temp. used for air sepn., etc. ;SOLUTION: This special structure packing element 1 has a corrugated shape having alternate peaks 3 and valleys 4 extending across the element. This corrugated shape has an axis in a longitudinal direction. The element has at least one zone in each of first grooves 5 forming an angle in a range of 0 to 180° with the longitudinal direction axis of the corrugated shape and at least one zone in each of second grooves 6 forming an angle in a range of 0 to 180° with the longitudinal direction axis of the corrugated shape. These first grooves form the angle larger than the angle of the second grooves. The element has plural holes penetrating the element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
