PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent back flow of muddy water to a high-head pump in stopping of pumping as well as to smoothly perform pumping without being affected by earth and sand in muddy water to be pumped. ;SOLUTION: A check valve 15 is constituted of a valve casing 17 in which a muddy water inflow port 23 is provided on the upper part and a muddy water outflow port 25 is provided on the lower part, and a valve member 29 formed of an elastic hose arranged in the valve casing 17, whose upper end communicates with and connected to the muddy water inflow port 23 of the valve casing 17, and whose lower end is arranged in the valve casing 17 in the free supporting state. The valve member 29 is made into the opening state only when it receives fluid pressure of muddy water 11 by the operation of a high-head pump 13, and it is maintained into the closing state by pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the elastic hose or elastic force of the elastic hose when it does not receive fluid pressure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
