MULTI-SCREEN TRANSMISSION TYPE MULTI-SPOT VIDEO CONFERENCE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of screens and the information amount of transmitted image data to be closer to an actual conference and to increase the presence of the conference by providing a selective editing function in an image-processing in a multi-spot video conference controller. ;SOLUTION: The encoded image data from video conference terminals, α, β, γ and δ are transmitted to decoding means 1a-1d, decoded and respectively transmitted to editing means 2a and 2b. For the editing means 2a, the decoded image data from the decoding means 1a-1d are inputted to a selection means 5a, and a part of them is selected and inputted to a screen composting means 6a. In this case, the vertical direction and horizontal direction of the image data are thinned, plural thinned images are composited and one composite screen is prepared and outputted to the selection means 5a. The selection means 5a selects one of the image data from the decoding means 1a or a composite image from the screen composite means 6a and outputs it to a multiplex means 3 as selected editing image data.
