SYSTEM FOR MULTIPLEXING AND MIXING GRAPHICS OSD AND VIDEO MOVING IMAGE FOR DIGITAL TELEVISION RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To multiplex graphics and video moving image for the top box of a digital television receiver by providing a video decoder and an OSD co- processor and selecting the display mode from a video moving image mode, a bit map mode or their combination. SOLUTION: An MPEG video decoder generates a moving image and an OSD co-processor generates a graphic window. A characteristic of each graphic window is a set of attribute 8 to designate display mode, position on a screen, priority and mixture coefficient. When a window is mixes with a moving image, the video moving image and a OSD color component are added at a rate designated respectively by the window attribute. A decimated video moving image is displayed in an OSD window. The OSD co-processor generates an idle window filled by the decimated video moving image by a video decoder.
