PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and permanent new remediation method capable of collectively detoxify heavy metals and organohalogen compd. in contaminated underground water on the spot. ;SOLUTION: A boring hole 1 is digged into contaminated soil and a ground surface is sealed to blow compressed air into the ground to generate a fracture 2 in a weak ground part. At the same time as this operation or subsequently, an iron powder is blown into the ground from the ground surface by compressed air to form an iron powder dispersed layer 4 to the fracture 2.
