PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the visibility for abnormal blood flow from degrading due to a smoothing of the interpolation process for blood flow movement data, and to successfully keep the entire quality of a two-dimensional blood flow image using the smoothing. ;SOLUTION: In a two-dimensional Doppler type ultrasonic diagnostic instrument, a CFM mode DSC is provided with a writing interpolation circuit 14 which interpolatively calculates a movement data of interpolation position to interpolate multiple sample positions on the cross section of an examined body from an actually measured data. The writing interpolation circuit 14 is provided with circuits 381 to 384 which compare the movement data of specified positions in multiple sample positions with a threshold value to determine an abnormal blood flow, circuits 39 and 40 which reduce the degree of smoothing of the interpolation process when an abnormal blood flow is detected, and control an appropriate degree of smoothing when it is not detected, and circuits 351 to 354, and 36 which perform an interpolative calculation based on the degree of smoothing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
