PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match outside lines when a polygon is plotted by means of linear interpolation and when the polygon is plotted only by means of surface painting on a surface painting method. ;SOLUTION: In the surface painting for painting out the internal part of the polygon given by apex coordinates, the outside lines of respective sides are obtained by linear interpolation, the Y-coordinate value of a processing line parallel to an X-axis is increased. Pixels between the minimum value of an X-coordinate and the maximum value of the X-coordinate among the outside lines on the two lines becoming a pair, which cross the processing line, are outputted. When the Y-coordinate value reaches the end of either side in the two sides, the pixels are outputted between the start of the next side following the side and the other side. Then, the internal part of the polygon is painted out. In such a case, a pixel output processing is executed and the pixels between the minimum value XSTA of the X-coordinate and the maximum value XEND of the X-coordinate on the processing line at the ends of the respective sides are corrected/outputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
