PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize uniform cooling in cooling equipment for steel strips. ;SOLUTION: In equipment for continuously cooling the steel strip by jetting a cooling medium 8 on the steel strip from a nozzle group which is arranged in a radial shape in the width direction of the steel strip, the camber in the width direction of the steel strip is controlled so that the cooling medium does not stay on the steel strip by making the radius 11 of curvature of the camber in the width direction of the steel strip larger than the radius of curvature of radial arrangement of the nozzles which are arranged on the concave side of the camber in the width direction of the steel strip. Or, in the equipment in which the steel strip is continuously cooled by jetting the cooling medium on the steel strip from the nozzle group which is horizontally arranged, the camber in the width direction of the steel strip is controlled so that the cooling medium 8 does not stay on the steel strip by making the direction of the camber in the width direction of the steel strip convex to the face of the nozzles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
