PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a concentrated air blowing-out into a room to be carried out by an air conditioner in such a way that its operation is performed in a silent manner and a sufficient increased air speed is attained. SOLUTION: A method for controlling an air blowing-out operation at an air blowing-out port of an air conditioner is performed such that a plurality of vanes 10c at both longitudinal sides of an air blowing-out port 8 are rotated to positions where they are closed to each other, the vanes are moved from a normal mode position where the closed vanes 10c are arranged side-by-side in respect to non-closed vanes 10a to a concentrated air blowing-out mode position where guiding surfaces 10d are formed to be inclined from the central part of the air blowing-out port 8 to an end side and toward the air blowing-out upstream side, wherein air to be blown out from both longitudinal sides of the air blowing-out port 8 is guided by the inclined guiding surface 10d, the air is controlled to be blown out concentrically and the blown-out air is concentrated at the central section without any severe state.
