PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leg structure of a steel column and its constructing method, which can be applied practically to the actual execution of works. ;SOLUTION: A seat metal piece 16 provided in a single piece with a base plate part 14 and a receptacle part 15 having hemispherical recess 15a is fixed onto a concrete foundation 3 with the aid of anchor bolts 12. Each column leg 19 joined fast to the bottom of the body 21 of a steel column includes a flange 18 and a spherical part 17 situated below the flange, and the spherical part 17 is fitted in the recess 15a, and the steel column 22 is installed upright on the metal piece 16. The flange 18 and metal piece 16 are coupled together at each corner using plumbing bolts 30, when the plumbness of the column 22 should be adjusted. A two-pronged metal fixture 24 is fixed to the seat metal piece 16 using bolt 23 and the spherical part 17 of the leg 19 is held by the fixture 24 and a cover 33 is set between the flange 18 and seat metal piece 16 and the spherical part 17 and fixture 24.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
