PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject new ribozyme consisting of a ribozyme capable of cutting specific site in a V3 group of human immunodeficiency virus HIV-1 and useful as an agent for the treatment of AIDS, an agent for suppressing the outbreak after the infection with HIV, etc. ;SOLUTION: This ribozyme is a new hammerhead-type ribozyme expressed by formula I [Y is A, U, G or C; L*N is a group of formula II ((p) is an integer of 0-10; N and N' are each A, U, G or C; * is a complimentary based pair); B is a bond or a loop structure composed of 1-8 bases consisting of A, U, G and C; the groups of formula III and formula IV are each a ribonucleotide sequence complimentary to the nucleic acid sequence of a target RNA and Q and R are each A, G, C or U; (n) is an integer of ≥2; (m) is an integer of ≥3] and capable of cutting the 3'-side of a 5'-NUX-3' sequence (N is A, U, G or C; X is A, U or C) in the V3 loop of HIV-1.
