ELECTRONIC CARD READER FOR READING CARDS WITH DIFFERENT KINDS OF FORMAT AND PORTABLE TELEPHONE SET INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single adapter for a small-sized card for preventing a user from feeling troublesome at the time of housing a large-sized card in an electronic card reader. ;SOLUTION: A reader is provided with a wall 5 equipped with a card supporting side face 6 and a connector 2 with an elastic contact terminal 3 projecting through an opening 8 from the supporting side face. The wall is provided with a recessed part 9 for housing a small-sized card while it is brought into contact with the contact terminal of the connector 2 for holding the small-sized card at a reading position, and a sheet still adapter 7 is housed integrally with the wall 5 at the lower part of the recessed part 9. The adapter 7 is provided with a clearance in the normal direction of the wall at least coincident with the thickness of the small-sized card and a hole 15 opposed to the opening 8. Therefore, this device can be applied to reading of the micro- SIM card of a portable telephone set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
