PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the superficial hydrophilicity and wettability of a polymeric material by incorporating a specific triblock copolymer in the material. ;SOLUTION: This method comprises incorporating a 0.1-10wt.% triblock copolymer of the formula A-B-A1 [A and A1 block are each a (substituted) alkyl, cycloalkyl unit, etc., with a number-average molecular weight of 200-1000 daltons derived from dehydroabietic acid, tall oil rosin or derivatives therefrom (esters, halides, acid halides); B block is a polyepichlorohydrin unit derived from polyepichlorohydrin polyol with two terminal hydroxyl groups and a number-average molecular weight of 400-4000 daltons] in a polymeric material, especially, a non-polar polymeric material such as a polyolefin (e.g. polyethylene) or polystyrene; thereby, improving the superficial hydrophilicity and coatability and printability of the nonpolar polymeric material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
