PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a manual operation of writing a title and the like for indicating contents on a label or the like and attaching it by attaching a rewritable title storage medium on a surface of a storage medium such as an MO and writing the title onto the title storage medium by using a readout and writing apparatus. ;SOLUTION: A title storage medium 2, onto which a title indicating the contents is to be written, is attached onto a storage medium 1 such as an MO, and the resultant medium is inserted into a storage medium readout and writing apparatus 7 to which a title writing apparatus 8 is attached. The title storage medium 2 is formed of a rewritable sheet-like medium containing a magnetic material. By sending a writing instruction to the title storage medium 2 in accordance with a writing instruction from a control apparatus 9 to the storage medium 1, characters and figures indicating the contents of the storage medium 1 are written onto the title storage medium 2.
