DETECTING METHOD FOR ARC WELD PASS AND ARC WELDING SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burden of a worker by facilitating the pretreatment required for detecting arc weld pass. ;SOLUTION: By spraying or coating the matting agent promoting irregular reflection of beam to the neighborhood of an arc weld pass 6, an irradiating beam 3 from a sensor 2 is surely and irregularly reflected on the surface of a work 4, its reflecting beam 5 is taken in the beam receiving part of sensor 2. Hand work, which may damage the surface of work 4, is not required and burden of a worker is reduced. Further, by mounting a spray nozzle 9 integrally to the sensor 2 and spraying the matting agent in synchronization with ON/OFF command of arc welding, etc., whole processes from pretreatment for weld pass detection to normal work of weld pass detection is completely automated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
