ROUTE GUIDE FIGURE PLOTTING DEVICE AND PLOTTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guide figure plotting device and a plotting method displaying road shapes understandably with respect to users while expressing stereoscopic sensations at the time of three-dimensionally displaying road information being on a map. ;SOLUTION: Three-dimensional plotting processing is performed by a three- dimensional picture plotting means so as to three-dimensionally display map information whose modelings are performed on a display means by generating height information by a height generating means 2 with respect to map information extracted from a map information storage means 5 with a map information extracting means 1 and by modeling the map information whose heights are generated by a road modeling means 3 on roads. Then, a ground sensation is made to be expressed by modeling the side wall of a road so as to display the road with a recessed shape when the road being a modeling object is lower than the ground surface and by modeling the side face of a road to have a thickness when the road is height than the ground surface and by modeling only the road surface with respect to the road of the ground surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
