PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the shape retention of embossed patterns and to also enhance water resistance, solvent resistance, flame resistance and hardness by forming a coating film having embossed patterns to the surface of a medium density wooden fiberboard and forming this coating film from an aq. coating compsn. using a hydraulic inorg. powder as extender pigment. ;SOLUTION: In a decorative panel wherein a coating film having embossed patterns is formed on the surface of a medium density wooden fiberboard, this coating film is formed from an aq. coating composition using a hydraulic inorg. powder as extender pigment. Generally an aq. emulsion coating agent is obtained by adding 100 pts.wt. of a powder consisting of 100 pts.wt. of other extender pigment and 0.5-10 pts.wt. of a coloring agent to 100 pts.wt. of the hydraulic inorg. powder to mix all of them and dispersing the mixiture to a polymer aq. emulsion. As the hydraulic inorg. powder usual Poltland cement, white Poltland cement, blast furnace fly ash cement, alumina cement and gypsum are designated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
