PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain phosphor particles which are excellent in uniformity of particles and in particle size distribution and gives a radiation image conversion panel excellent in image quality by producing a precipitate of a specific accelerated phosphor precursor by using an apparatus comprising a reaction vessel, a stirrer, and pipes for supplying to a liq.-flow-controlling hollow circular cylinder. ;SOLUTION: A rare-earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride halide activated phosphor represented by the formula: Ba1-xM2xFx:yM1, zLn (wherein M2 is Mg, Sr, Zn, or Cd; M1 is Li, Na, K, Rb, or Cs; X is Cl, Br, or I; Ln is Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Tm, Dy, Ho, Nd, Er, or Yb; 0≤x≤0.6; 0≤y≤0.05; and 0z≤0.2) is produced with an apparatus at least having a reaction vessel 1 for containing an aq. soln. of alkaline earth metal halides (e.g. BaBr and EuBr3) other than fluorides, a stirrer 5 for stirring the soln., and supply pipes 3, 4 for supplying fluorides (e.g. NH4F) into the soln.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
