PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the strength of a furnace core pipe and to improve thermal efficiency and heat controllability by splitting a supporting part fixing a cylindrical furnace core pipe into pieces in the direction of axis. ;SOLUTION: The externally heated rotary kiln is provided with a furnace core pipe 1 made of ceramic material with both ends opening, a supporting part 2 fixing and supporting the furnace core part 1 at four positions, an electric heater 3 that is a heating means being arranged surrounding the furnace core pipe 1 and the supporting part 2 is arranged on the upper part of a rotation transmitting device 4. For the synchronized rotation of the supporting parts 2, the rotation transmitting device 4 is connected to a coaxial shaft 5. The supporting parts 2 supporting the furnace core pipe 1 are separated into two pieces and upper half can be removed at the assembling of furnace core part 1 into the furnace body. Therefore, the furnace of the structure wherein the mechanical strength of the furnace core pipe 1 can be secured against own weight inside the furnace core pipe 1 is realized as the distance between the supporting parts 2 can be set arbitrarily and these are useful for larger furnace size.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
