PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preform the fine setting and the controlling of attenuations being the manufacturing variation level of the branching ratio of an optical branching coupler by properly arranging and connecting an optical fiber for output terminal in which a pass loss is increased by expanding the core of an arbiterary position to an connection terminal in which an output level of a signal light of the optical branching coupler is larger. ;SOLUTION: For example, when the output level of the signal light of the connection side of an optical fiber 7 is larger than that of the signal light of the connection side of an optical fiber 8, the pass loss of the fiber 7 is increased by providing a light attenuating function part 9 in the fiber 7 and by expanding the core of the arbitrary oposition of the part. Then, the optical fiber 7 in which the pass loss is increased in such a way is connected to a connection terminal 11 in which the output level of the signal light of an optical branching coupler 3 is larger. Thus, both output levels of signal lights to be outputted from respective output terminals 11, 12 of optical fibers 7, 8 for respective output terminals are matched with each other by transmitting respective signal lights to be outputted from the optical coupler 3 to the optical fibers 7, 8 for plural output terminals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
