PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for converting an image of infrared ray into a visible light image which is compact and not complicated without requiring any external processing circuit. ;SOLUTION: This device has a detecting means 38 formed of a quantum well detector and the like for detecting an infrared ray image accumulated on a substrate 3 and a converting means 40 for converting the infrared image similarly accumulated on the substrate 36 into a visible light image. The converting means 40 includes a light emitting diode array emitting by electron produced by the quantum well detector and a photoelectric surface 28 formed on the array and a fluorescent screen 30 emitting by photoelectron radiated from the photoelectric surface 28 is mounted in this device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
