PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely specify the position of a compiling screen by using photographing data information recorded in a recording medium at the time of compiling a video. ;SOLUTION: An operator sets a video compiling device to the start position/ termination position input modes of a compiling scene. At that mode, photographing day and hour information 11 designating the start position and photographing date information 12 designating a termination position are displayed on the screen. The operator operates an input operator so that it is selected which of information on the start position and that on the termination position is to be inputted and sets photographing day and hour information showing the start position and the termination position of the desired scene against the respective items of 'year, month, day, hour, minute and second'. For the purpose that the scene position is set with more minute precision than a second unit, the item of an offset frame 13 can be provided. When '+10' is set for the offset frame, for example, the position behind the scene position designated by 'year, month, day, hour, minute and second' by 10 frames is shown and the position before that by five frames is hown when '-5' is set.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
