PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To free a cup-shaped container for a food-article in a state of gel as its contents of the possibility of the seal coming off the sealed part between a flange and lid member through deformation of a stopped flange part when the flange and the lid member are to be severed. SOLUTION: A cup-shaped container 10 has a bottom 3, a side wall 4 which extends from the bottom 3 upward, and opening 9 positioned above the side wall 4, a flange 2 provided along the periphery of the opening 9 to fix a lid member, and a flange part 2a provided at a part of the periphery of the flange 2 as a means of releasing the lid member fixed to the flange 2 therefrom. The flange part 2a is formed of a single plate and extends outwardly and downwardly from the periphery of the flange 2.
