PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply measure the impedance of a line by an approximation method, by connecting a full-wave rectification capacitor smoothing circuit as a load circuit with a line to be measured, through a power-factor meter, and obtaining the power factor during current application. ;SOLUTION: This equipment consists of a power-factor meter 4, a load circuit 2, a variable resistor 3 and a computer 8. A load circuit 2 using a full-wave rectification capacitor smoothing circuit and the like is connected with a low voltage distribution line in the state of current application, through a power- factor meter 4. A specified current is made to flow through the circuit 2 by a resistor 3. A current, a voltage and power which are applied to the circuit 2 are detected by the power factor meter 4, and the values are sent to a circuit 8. A data processing circuit 10 receives the data from the power-factor meter 4 through a data collecting circuit 9, and converts the data into an impedance, from the obtained power factor. A display circuit 11 displays the impedance. In this case, the circuit 10 estimates the impedance of the line 1, from the obtained power factor and data which have been already measured and show 'power factor characteristics of each impedance for each input current'.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
