RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD FOR DIGITAL SIGNAL AND DIGITAL VTR DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable long-time recording/reproducing using the conventional digital VTR running system. ;SOLUTION: Recorded data by means of a low transfer rate format is partitioned by a specified low rate recording/reproducing time T1 and the format of the data blocks B1 to B6 prepared as working memory is converted to a high transfer rate format. The data blocks R1 to R3 by means of the high transfer rate format are intermittently recorded on a recording tape C which consecutively runs with a specified high rate recording/reproducing time T2 while forming unrecorded blank sections Z1 to Z5. Succeedingly when the tape finishes, it is wound back and the above unrecorded sections Z1 to Z5 are written once with the data blocks R4 to R6 by means of high transfer rate format to continue recording.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
