PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new oligonucleic acid capable of forming a G-tetramer structure, having a terminal having a donor fluorophore and a terminal having an acceptor, reducing the quenching of fluorescence, when the G-tetramer structure is not held, and useful for detecting nucleic acids, etc. SOLUTION: This oligonucleotide can form a G-tetramer structure, has the first terminal labeled with a donor fluorophore such as fluorescein and the second terminal labeled with an acceptor comprising tetramethyl rhodamine, N-hydroxysuccinimidyl 1-pyrene sulfonate or p-(dimethylazo)benzoic acid. When the oligonucleotide forms the G-tertramer structure, the fluorescence of the donor fluorophore is eliminated with the acceptor. When the G-tetramer structure is not held, the quenching of the fluorescence of the donor fluorophore is reduced. The new oligonucleotide includes compounds of formulas I-V, and is useful for detecting nucleic acids, etc.
