USE OF LIPOXYGENASE INHIBITOR AND CYCLOOXYGENASE INHIBITOR FOR REGULATING GROWTH OF BODY HAIR AND/OR HAIR OF HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the regulation of the growth of body hair and/or hair of the head by containing a lipoxygenases inhibitor and a cyclooxygenase inhibitor therein. ;SOLUTION: This composition for medicines or cosmetics is prepared by containing 0.01-5wt.% lipoxygenase inhibitor and 0.001-5wt.% cyclooxygenase inhibitor therein. The lipoxygenase inhibitor is selected from a redox inhibitor or a nonredox inhibitor, a precursor of the redox inhibitor, an iron chelating agent, an imidazole-containing compound, phenothiazine, a benzopyran derivative and certain kinds of eicosanoids. The cyclooxygenase inhibitor is selected from especially a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent, e.g. an arylcarboxyl derivative, a pyrazole-containing derivative, an oxicam derivative and a nicotinic acid derivative. The composition can be used for effectively inhibiting and/or delaying the growth of body hair and/or hair of the head or promoting the depilation of the body hair and/or hair of the head without manifesting the toxicity or adverse effects.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
