PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify taking-off work of a child shield from a parent shield body in a case where a small-diameter tunnel is excavated continuously of a large-diameter tunnel. ;SOLUTION: A connection pin device 75 capable of advancing and retracting a connection pin and mutually connecting and detaching a child shield body and a parent shield body 31 is provided, a reaction force receiving member 84 for supporting a small-diameter segment 81 on the front end of a large-diameter segment 72 is provided, and a child shield rear drum part 32B is rearward pulled out by a child shield promotion jack 83 at the time of taking-off of the child shield to be connected and fixed to the child shield body. The small-diameter segment 81 assembled by a child shield erector 82 is rearward pushed out by the child shield promotion jack 83 to be abutted on the reaction force receiving member 84, after the connection pin device 75 is released, the small-diameter segment 81 is made a reaction force receiver by the child shield promotion jack 83, and the child shield body is taken off from the parent shield body 31.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
