UNTYING DEVICE FOR BINDING STRING BUNDLING GROUP OF FOLDED CORRUGATED PAPERBOARD BOXES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an untying device for binding string bundling a group of folded corrugated paperboard boxes, which is designed to automatically cut a binding string of synthetic resin during conveyance. ;SOLUTION: This untying device for binding string has on one side of a conveyor 1 which supplies a bundle A of folded corrugated paperboard boxes bundled with a binding string of synthetic resin a string-hooking means 2 comprising an arrangement of a prescribed number of heating irons 6 for cutting by fusion the binding string of the bundle of folded corrugated paperboard boxes, on the other side of the conveyor 1, i.e., on the side opposite to the position where the string-hooking means 2 effects the cutting, a reciprocating delivery mechanism 12 meeting the conveyor at its side, a string-removing means 10 having a string-hooking mechanism 16 with a fastening claw, provided at the forward end of the reciprocating delivery mechanism 12 and designed to move in the direction of the conveyor, and a boxes-pressing means 17 brought directly above the position of the cutting on the conveyor 1. In this instance the binding string tying the bundle of folded corrugated paperboard boxes which have stopped at a specified position on the conveyor 1 is cut by fusion as the heating irons 6 slide in the direction of the conveyor and at a position opposite thereto the string-hooking mechanism 16 catches the cut binding string and removes it from the place.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
