PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a cylinder block of Siamese type and improve the run of liquid metal in the neighborhood of junctions for joining adjacent cylinder sleeves of an assembly-body of the cylinder sleeves to prevent generation of poor casting, at the time of its casting process. ;CONSTITUTION: At the lower ends of junctions 3₂... for joining plural cylinder sleeves 3₁... of an assembly-body 3 of the cylinder sleeves, triangular, notches 3₃... to be triangular in its side view are formed to reduce the weight of a cylinder block 1. Liquid metal poured from the crank case side of a cylinder block-body 2 at the time of casting, is passed through the notches 3₃... to flow in on the desk face side of the cylinder block-body 2, and thereby the run of liquid metal is improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
