METHOD FOR INSPECTING APPLIED STATE OF CORRECTING PAINT TO JOINING PART OF CAN DRUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and surely inspect the quality of the applied state of a correcting paint applied to the joining part of a can drum without requiring a complicated device structure. ;SOLUTION: The image of the application position of a correcting paint 8 to be applied to the inner surface side of the joining part 1a of a can drum 1 is picked up by an image pickup device 14 while it is lighted by a lighting device 13. From the image data obtained by image pickup, the brightness data showing the change of brightness of the image in the circumferential direction of the can drum 1 is formed, and positions of both side edges of the can drum 1 and the correcting paint 8 are specified. The quality of the applied state of the correcting paint 8 to the joining part 1a is inspected on the basis of the mutual positional relation between both side edges of the joining part 1a and the correcting paint 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
