PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of work and reduce radiation dose of workers. ;SOLUTION: A sludge dryer 13 is connected to a filtering device 1 by way of a sludge exhaust valve 3 and a drum 5 is connected to the outlet side of the sludge dryer 13 by way of a sludge dryer outlet valve 15. The bottom of the drum 5 is put on a weight meter 6. Waste activated carbon sludge separated between solid and liquid with the filtering device 1 is dried with the sludge dryer 13 and this dried waste carbon sludge is charged in the drum 5. As work of carrying waste carbon sludge to an incineration furnace and work of stirring and extracting sludge from the drum 5 can be avoided by this, work efficiency improves, and owing to the simplification of the works, radiation dose to the workers can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
