PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of reduction of CO in exhaust gas, of rapid cooling of the exhaust gas for restriction of production of dioxin, of cooling the exhaust gas by joining dust collection air with the exhaust gas, of secure removal of the dioxin and dust with filter cloth of a dust collector, of sharp reduction of the dioxin contained in the exhaust gas exhausted into the atmosphere, and of demonstration of the high removal rate of dioxin and dust and hence excellent removal effect. ;SOLUTION: Waste gas is introduced into a burning tower 2 for high temperature combustion, and is then introduced into a waste gas cooling apparatus 3 where a plurality of cooling pipes 3a are connected with each other in parallel at 600 to 400 degrees C. By forcing the waste gas to pass through the waste gas cooling apparatus 3 in turbulent flow state, it is rapidly cooled to 300 degrees C or lower.
