PURPOSE:To enhance the safety of an installation work for a long span beam by fitting a strain gauge to a rail for measuring and displaying the load fluctuation of the beam during a travel, when a beam having wheels at both support end sections is made to travel along the rail. CONSTITUTION:Both end support sections 2 of a long span beam 1 are provided with wheels 6 in horizontal and vertical directions. Then, rails 5 and 5a are laid on the bottom and wall sections of a U-shaped wall 4 on a foundation structure 3. The beam 1 is placed on the rails 5 and 5a via the wheels 6, and made capable of travelling under a traction force by a jack device 10.
