PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain large synthesis gain owing to a maximum ratio synthesis and also to restrain the cost of line transmission by undergoing different soft handover start decision processing between an identical cell different sector and a different cell in information processing between a mobile station and a base station. ;SOLUTION: A mobile station device has memory 25 and a soft handover start decision circuit 27 which are connected to a control circuit 11 and a perch channel receiving level measuring circuit 29 which is connected to a receiving circuit 5. The memory 25 stores information of an adjacent cell/sector which is notified from a base station, i.e., concretely, the information on a perch channel. which sends in each cell/sector that is adjacent and the information which discriminates whether each perch channel is sent from an identical cell different sector. The control circuit 11 reads the information from the memory 25 and supplies it to the decision circuit 27. The decision circuit 27 instructs the measuring circuit 29 to measure a perch channel receiving level according to the information of the adjacent cell/sector.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
