PURPOSE:To provide an automatic marking device capable of improving learning efficiency, making guidance and management explicit and easy and improving overall efficiency, a marking display method and answer paper to be used therefor. CONSTITUTION:The automatic marking device which reads the answer paper of examinations by a reading machine and executes marking processing by inputting the read data into a computer has a question memory section which previously stores the information on at least the field units, levels, answers and mark allotment among the respective questions, an answer memory section which reads and stores the information stated on the answer paper, a record analyzing section which discriminates the correction of the answers of solvers in accordance with the information of the question memory section and the answer memory section and analyzes the records of the salvers in accordance with the mark allotment of the correct answers obtd. by the discrimination and a record display section or output display section which displays the records of the solvers within a matrix table set with the field units in either of the vertical and horizontal columns and levels in the other, respectively.
