PURPOSE:To efficiently supply coded data concerning the image data supply processing system to successively select the coded data of hierarchically coded images and to supply them to the device of a request source. CONSTITUTION:A supplying means 4 is provided to supply the coded data of images to be selected to the device of the request source in the order of hierarchically rated levels, and a measuring means 5 is provided to measure the cumulative value of code amounts in the supplying coded data of the supplying means. When the measured value of the measuring means 5 exceeds a control code amount set in advance, the supplying means 4 immediately stops supplying the coded data and starts supplying the next coded data of the image or stops supplying the coded data and starts supplying the coded data of the next image at a time point when the coded data at the hierarchical level under supplying is completely supplied. Then, the measured value of the measuring means 5 is reset for this supply stop control of the coded data.
