PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by pulling a tie cable up at the closed time of a roof so as to support horizontal force by outer wall reinforcing bodies, and tightening the tie cable at the open time of the roof so as to support horizontal force by the roof itself. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a building 1 formed of a closable roof 2, lower structure 4, and reinforcing bodies 5 formed to be equal to the width at the closed time of the roof 2. Cable like tension material 3 is then stretched between the base ends of the roof 2, and one end thereof is connected to a tension lead-in device A and a take-up device B provided at a roof base part. A lifting device C is further provided at a roof part to lift the tension material 3 along the roof 2 at the closed time of the roof 2 so as to obtain the required interior height. The roof weight horizontal force this time is supported by the reinforcing bodies 5. At the open time of the roof 2, the tension material 3 is tightened using the devices A, B, and the horizontal force is supported by the roof itself. The length of the reinforcing bodies 5 can be thereby shortened to reduce a construction cost to a large degree as well as to facilitate designing.
