1,1,2-TRIPHENYLBUTENE-1 DERIVATIVE FOR TREATMENT OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control Alzheimer's disease by administering 1,1,2 triphenylbutene-1 derivative. SOLUTION: A compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are each methyl or ethyl, in the case that they are identical or one is methyl or ethyl and the other is H or benzyl in the case that they are different from each other) or its salt is given continuously or at a daily dose in 1-4 portions orally, perrectally, percutaneously, intravenously, intramuscularly or intranasally. The dose is 1-100mg/day, preferably 10-40mg/day. The medicinal preparation containing the compound of the formula is produced by properly formulating a carrier, a diluent, an excipient and the like to 0.1-99.9wt.% of the active ingredient. The compound of the formula is known as droloxifene and used as an antiestrogen agent.
