PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic lens having high refractive index, low dispersion, excellent weather resistance and small specific gravity and an optical element. SOLUTION: This thiocarbamic acid S-alkyl ester resin optical element is obtained by adding an internal mold release agent to the mixture of polyisocyanate containing one or more sulfur atoms with a thiol compound containing one or more type of hydroxy groups and no sulfur atom except mercapto group and cast polymerizing it. A method for manufacturing a lens is provided. An optical element and a plastic lens are made of the resin obtained by the method.
