PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause an apparent distribution of rich and lean concentrations to be formed within the same nozzle and further enable a preferable igniting and combustion characteristic to be attained by a method wherein a core member is arranged at a position of an extremity end throttled section of a nozzle installed at a central section of a fine powder coal flow passage of a burner and having a rear edge of the extremity end formed in an extremity fine shape toward a fine powder coal blowing port. ;SOLUTION: A core member 1 acting as a separator for separating rich and lean concentrations of fine powder coal is arranged at the central part of a fine powder coal flow passage 6 of a fine powder coal burner 11, a rear edge part 2 at the extremity end of the core member 1 is placed against a nozzle throttle section 3, thereby fine powder coals 15 having a high inertia force are collected at an outer circumferential section of the nozzle under utilization of increased or decreased flow speed of the fine powder coal flow across the rear edge section 2 of the extremity end of the core 1, air 14 for transporting fine powder coals is recovered at the central part of the nozzle, thereby an apparent fine distribution of rich and lean concentrations of fine powder coals is formed at the fine powder coal blowing-out section. In this case, the rear edge part 2 at the extremity end of the core 1 is arranged at a slight inner side of the fine powder coal blowing-out section in such a way that it may have 0.8 to 1.5D in respect to a diameter D of the fine powder coal blowing-out section, thereby it is possible to accomplish a superior igniting characteristic as well as a superior combustion characteristic.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
