PURPOSE:To head even a bolt having a short shank part with a transfer header by holding a work with a die while the shank part is protruded from the die after working in each stage, then, grasping the shank part with a transfer finger. CONSTITUTION:Since an upsetting part is in the die 27 and the shank part is protruded from the die 27, the shank part can be held easily by the transfer finger 35 and after it is held, it is protruded from the side of the die 44. Consequently, in a small interval when the side of the die 44 is protruded, the transfer finger 35 need not hold a blank shank part, the shank part is transferred easily and surely from the die 27 to the transfer finger 35 and an enough length is not required to the bolt shank part.
