PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive to form a grain pattern on the resin of a resin covered steel pipe, the scrapping and incinerating disposals of which are easy, by a method wherein multi-color colored heat resistant grade pellets are mixed with a thermoplastic synthetic resin, to which wood flour is added and which has favorable fluidity, and the specified portion of the heating cylinder of a molder is held at the specified heating temperature. ;SOLUTION: Wood flour and further multi-color or black, light brown, red and the like colored heat resistant grade pellets are mixed with a thermoplastic synthetic resin, in which no problems such as the development of black smoke, a noxious gas and the like at the incinerating disposal of waste material occurs, and the fluidity at melting of which is favorable. The resultant mixed synthetic resin is extruded through a hopper so as to be supplied to a molder in order to cover the outer peripheral surface of a thin-walled steel pipe applied with an adhesive, resulting in being bonded with its surface by being melted in the heating cylinder of the extrusion molder under the condition that the heating temperature of the portion ahead near the middle part of the heating cylinder is set to lie in the range of 165-180°C. Accordingly, favorable grain pattern is stably and highly efficiently formed on the covering resin, which develops no problem relating to environmental pollution at incinerating disposal, resulting in enhancing the designing and economical value of the steel pipe.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
