PURPOSE: To obtain a partially oxidized product and completely oxidized product selectively from white liquor by fixing product extracting tubes to a partial oxidation reactor and complete oxidation reactor respectively and equipping piping for sending the partially oxidized product to the complete oxidation reactor. ;CONSTITUTION: White liquor 1 is reacted with high oxygen stream 5 in a reaction area 103 at about 180 to about 325°F so as to convert at least 80% ammonium sulfide into partially oxidized sulfide compound. A part 11 of partially oxidized white liquor is extracted and the balance 13 is oxidized by high oxygen stream in a reaction area 107 at about 300 to about 380°F so as to convert at least 80% of total non-oxidized and partially oxidized sulfide compound into ammonium sulfate.
