PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject solid solution excellent in dispersibility, color deepth and purity, etc., and useful as an automotive coating material, composed of plural symmetric compounds differing from one another and a quinacridone or 3rd component. ;SOLUTION: This solid solution is composed of (A) two compounds of formula I and formula II [A and B are different from each other, being a group of formula III (R1 and R2 are each H, a halogen, etc.), etc.; when one party thereof is phenyl, the other cannot be p-chlorophenyl] and (B) a quinacridone of formula IV (R is H, a halogen, 1-6C alkyl, etc.) or (C) a 3rd component, an 1,4-diketopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole of formula V (X and Y are each a group of formula VI) differing from the component A (pref. for example, 1,4-diketo-3,6- diphenylpyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole). This solid solution has an X-ray diffraction pattern essentially the same as that exhibited by a mixed crystal composed of equimolar amounts of the compounds of formula I and formula II.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
