FIRST RESERVATION PROTOCOL TYPE ATM EXCHANGE METHOD, ITS ATM EXCHANGE AND ATM SUBSCRIBER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cell abort rate and to suppress deterioration in the trans mission efficiency even in the case of sending a long ATM cell burst in the first reservation protocol type exchange system. ;SOLUTION: A buffer monitor circuit 6 monitors an idle slot number of a buffer 4 of an ATM exchange. An RM cell processing circuit 2 compares a cell number in a burst described in a head RM cell with an idle slot number upon the receipt of an ATM cell burst from an ATM subscriber device 1, stores cells to a buffer 4 by an idle slot number when the number of the idle slots is small, sends the transmission RM cell describing number of the cell stored finally to the ATM subscriber device 1 and the ATM subscriber device 1 sends again the cell burst consisting of the remaining cells.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
